Government Practice

While the transition of a new government administration always brings new heightened levels of interest in government work from mid-level specialists and leaders from industry, the reality is, the Government Sector as a whole is now facing its most serious talent shortage crisis.
 
The Office of Personnel Management recently surveyed the government’s most senior executives and found that nearly 42% were planning to leave the Federal Service in the next three years, and more than 61% in the next five years. While agency and department leaders understand that replenishing the SES (Senior Executive Service) ranks with high-caliber executives is vital to the continued success of their organizations, the solution to this challenge is not an easy task. A shrinking talent pool across all sectors means that government agencies will face fierce competition for talented executives from the private and nonprofit sectors.

Korn/Ferry International has successfully executed search assignments for nearly all key SES level positions.  We also deliver single and surge-hiring search efforts for mid-level leadership and specialists, through the Korn/Ferry-Futurestep division, in compliance with all USC Title 5 recruitment protocols.  All of our services are listed and can be ordered via our GSA Schedule Contract vehicle 738X (Human Resources & EEO Services).  We also hold a government-wide Blanket Purchase Agreement for all of our services via one of the OMB designated government Human Resource Lines of Business shared service centers - which allows all government departments to issue recruitment task orders at will.
