As Managing Director, Ms. Poelman is responsible for the operational affairs, as well as business development for the Belgian market.

Prior to joining Futurestep in 2001, Ms. Poelman was an international project manager with Mercuri Urval International, a company focusing exclusively on large cross-border consultancy projects and assignments. Earlier, she joined Monsanto Inc. as assistant to the vice president and head of the global team in charge of business development and capability building outside of the United States.

Before entering executive search, Ms. Poelman served as a lecturer at the faculty of applied economics in Leuven. She then moved to the private sector where she was a project manager for CERA Bank. Ms. Poelman then turned to more international responsibilities as finance and administration manager for Financial Network Association, an association of  15 telecom operators worldwide.

Ms. Poelman holds a master’s degree in Roman philology from KUL, Belgium, as well as a postgraduate degree in European studies from Nancy, France. She is fluent in Dutch, French, English and Spanish.
