Gary Hourihan Chairman Industry Leader, Financial Services Leadership and Talent Consulting Irvine
Mr. Hourihan is responsible for business generation, major account relationships and supporting Korn/Ferry’s intellectual property with respect to the Firm’s Management Assessment and Executive Coaching & Development businesses. Previously, he served as the President of Leadership Development Solutions, where he was responsible for overseeing the group’s global operations and strategy.
Prior to joining Korn/Ferry, Mr. Hourihan was founder, chairman, and CEO of SCA Consulting, a leading management consulting firm focused on performance measurement and management reward and motivational issues. Prior to forming SCA, Mr. Hourihan was a partner at the international consulting firm of Booz, Allen & Hamilton, where he led the firm’s organization and executive compensation practices for the western United States. Earlier in his career, he was a regional vice president of Citicorp’s International Banking Group and a senior consultant with Hewitt Associates.
Mr. Hourihan has consulted with numerous boards and compensation committees on organizational, executive reward, performance and motivational issues. He also has been frequently quoted in numerous publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Economist, and The Los Angeles Times, and has co-authored an article on leadership for Harvard Business Review.
Mr. Hourihan is a frequent guest lecturer on leadership and executive behavior at USC’s Marshall School of Business, The London School of Business, HEC and other leading business schools. He also is active in many civic organizations. He has served as president of the San Marino Little League and as a board member of the Pasadena Pops Orchestra and is a member of the 100 Club of Los Angeles, an organization comprised of many of the area’s business leaders.
Mr. Hourihan has a bachelor of arts from Princeton University, a master’s of business administration from the University of Chicago, and a license en economique applique from the University of Louvain, Belgium.
