Bringing more than two decades of search experience to the Firm, Mr. Coutts conducts senior-level executive searches with an emphasis on advanced technology and industrial clients throughout North America. He also served as the Global Sector Leader for Systems & Electronics.

Before joining Korn/Ferry in 1998, he spent six years with a leading West Coast-based executive search firm with a strong presence in numerous industry sectors, including technology, industrial, consumer products, healthcare and professional services.  As a principal and partner in that firm, he was instrumental in establishing a strong base of technology clients, ranging from emerging companies to Fortune 500 corporations.

Mr. Coutts’ prior executive search experience includes working as a consultant for two prominently retained recruiting firms in Boston. During his tenure at these firms, he focused on searches in the advanced technology, industrial and biotechnology/medical products industries.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Coutts taught college-level economics and business studies. His other industry experience includes management roles in sales and marketing with a horticultural product company based in England. In addition,  Mr. Coutts gained human resource experience with one of New Zealand’s largest industrial companies.

Mr. Coutts received his bachelor’s degree in education from Waikato University in Hamilton, New Zealand.
