Since joining Korn/Ferry in 2006, Ms. Shanahan has partnered with 150+ CEOs, board members and CHROs across all industries and geographies to revamp their HR functions. Additionally, she serves as Office Managing Director for the Firm’s Northern Virginia office. Ms. Shanahan has been in executive search for more than a decade and has a track record of helping clients ranging from start-up to the Fortune 500 build high-impact executive leadership teams.

Previously, Ms. Shanahan led wireless corporate strategy and business development for MCI, where she helped develop MCI’s next generation broadband and convergence strategy, formed and managed strategic partnerships and launched new markets across the U.S. She was first recruited to MCI in human resources to develop and lead its global executive recruiting and talent strategy. In this role, she secured and developed the executive leadership required for MCI to meet its business and financial objectives in an intensely competitive market. Ms. Shanahan also helped rebuild the company’s high potential program during this time.

Prior to MCI, Ms. Shanahan spent five years with another global executive search firm, where she focused on C-level assignments for technology companies in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. Earlier, she was a consultant with DFI International, a management consulting firm, where she was retained by organizations to analyze core competencies, conduct competitive market assessments, provide due diligence on merger and acquisition targets and develop strategic market entry efforts.

Ms. Shanahan serves on the board of Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) and is a 2007 graduate of Leadership Fairfax’s Signature Program. She has been published in Fortune Magazine, featured in The Washington Post, and was named one of Washington’s 100 Tech Titans in 2011.

Ms. Shanahan holds a bachelor of science degree with a double major in finance and communications from Virginia Tech University.
