With decades of experience in the insurance industry and deep experience recruiting senior officers, Mr. Magsig brings a wealth of knowledge to Korn/Ferry. Much of Mr. Magsig’s search work is centered on recruiting C-suite executives to transformational opportunities, on succession planning and on leveraging exceptional talent in new ventures. He is one of a highly select group of senior partners to be accorded Korn/Ferry mentoring status. Mr. Magsig joined the Firm in 2002.

Prior to entering the executive search field, Mr. Magsig most recently served as chairman, president and CEO of The Cologne Life Reinsurance Company for nearly 10 years.

In addition, Mr. Magsig functioned as a major contributor to The Vorstand in shaping global initiatives. He led the Cologne Life Re to six-fold increases in profits and revenues during this period while also increasing substantially shareholder value.

Mr. Magsig has served on several major industry boards, including the American Council of Life Insurers, the Health Insurance Association of America and the Medical Information Bureau. Currently, he serves on the International Insurance Society Board and on the advisory board of the Pacific Insurance Conference. Mr. Magsig has considerable corporate board experience. He regularly quoted in major insurance and business publications and is a featured speaker at industry meetings.

Mr. Magsig earned a bachelor’s in business administration at Huntington College, and holds the FLMI, CLU, and LLIF designations.
