With more than three decades of experience in the search profession, Mr. McLean is internationally recognized for recruiting senior financial talent to global public and private companies for both executive and board positions. His relationships with top CFOs, Audit Committee Chairs and the regulatory community give him a particular advantage in serving clients in recruiting exceptional senior financial executives and leaders. He has placed highly respected professionals as directors and CFOs, as well as top executives in treasury, risk management and related roles.

In directing the Firm’s Financial Officers resources, his principal focus is to assure that best talent in the Firm is aligned to client needs in all assignments undertaken.

Prior to joining Korn/Ferry, Mr. McLean most recently served as vice chairman, senior director and leader of the global financial officer practice with another top-tier recruitment firm, a firm he was associated with for 23 years. He established the financial officer practice at his former firm, among the first in the industry, and a standard duplicated by competitors.  

Prior to entering the search profession, Mr. McLean was with the New York Stock Exchange and later held senior operating roles with a global textile manufacturer. He served as a Captain in the Medical Service Corps of the U.S. Army, earning both the Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medals for his service with the 2nd Surgical Hospital in Vietnam.

Mr. McLean received his master’s in business administration from Columbia Business School and a bachelor of science degree in management from Manhattan College. He has served on many community and cultural boards.
