NACD DIRECTORSHIP, Deloitte, and Korn/Ferry Conduct Groundbreaking Research: What Society Thinks? About Boards and Business

BOSTON (October 27, 2009) - NACD Directorship, the leading website and business magazine for public company board directors, in conjunction with Deloitte LLP and Korn/Ferry International, is conducting a landmark nationwide survey to gauge societal attitudes about the boardroom community, which includes directors, chairs, and CEOs. The survey is being conducted through October at www.directorship.com.

"While many studies show what the boardroom thinks, none tell the director what society thinks about how boards are doing. Anecdotally, the news hour provides some feedback, but this survey is the first to give directors unvarnished and candid comments from society at large about the boardroom world we live in," said Jeffrey M. Cunningham, chairman, CEO, and editorial director of Directorship. "The boardroom community is now very sensitive to public opinion on issues ranging from financial performance and compensation to environmental issues to regulation and compliance. The 'What Society Thinks?' research will become the new resource for the boardroom community to understand, anticipate, and respond to these issues."

The survey, produced in conjunction with Deloitte LLP and Korn/Ferry International, seeks input from academics, journalists, analysts, and policy makers as well as directors and officers, in addition to consumers.

Results will be published in the December/January issue of NACD Directorship and made available online at www.directorship.com on December 15, 2009.
