Hong Kong, March 5, 2007 - Nick Faldo today announced that Korn/Ferry International, a premier global provider of talent management solutions, has been appointed a patron of the Faldo Series Asia, the six-time Major winner’s initiative to identify and nurture the region’s next generation of champions.
As part of a minimum two-year agreement, Korn/Ferry will support The Faldo Trust (Asia) – the charity which operates the Faldo Series Asia – with a combination of funding and promotional contributions.
Commented Faldo: “I am delighted to welcome Korn/Ferry on board and extremely pleased that they share my vision to develop talent in Asia. To welcome another premier global company to our portfolio of sponsors, which already includes blue-chip brands such as Mission Hills, The R&A and UBS, is great news for the Faldo Series Asia and great news for the future of golf in this region.”
David Hui, Senior Client Partner of Korn/Ferry in Hong Kong said: “We have been extremely impressed by Nick’s dedication to creating access to the game of golf for younger children, and helping to nurture talented golfers into tomorrow’s leaders on and off the course. We share this commitment to developing talent in the region and are proud to contribute to the continued success of the Faldo Series Asia.”
The Faldo Series Asia recently completed its inaugural grand final (February 1 – 6) at Mission Hills, China which brought together 60 leading young golfers, male and female aged 12 to 21, from 11 different Asian countries. The players competed over three rounds on the Faldo course under strict tournament conditions; off the course they attended seminars by guest speakers on areas of the game ranging from ‘life on Tour’ to ‘media and PR’. Faldo himself spent three days with the players in order to pass on his advice and experience; he also hosted a clinic for local school-children and invited them to watch the action in a bid to create access to the game for a younger audience.

About the Faldo Series Asia
Nick Faldo launched the Faldo Series Asia in January 2006 to bring opportunities to young people in Asia through golf and to help identify and nurture the region’s next generation of champions.
The Faldo Series Asia features an annual schedule of events in different territories across the region. Over 60 players qualify for the Faldo Series Asia grand final, hosted by the six-time Major winner on the Faldo course at Mission Hills Golf Club in China.
Combining experience with education, Faldo Series Asia tournaments give talented young golfers, male and female aged 11 to 21, the chance to benefit from top-level competition under strict tournament conditions and receive expert advice from guest speakers on golf related topics. Simultaneously younger children gain access to golf at the tournaments through a programme of grass-roots activities and the chance to watch the competitors in action.
Part of The Faldo Trust for Tomorrow’s Champions (Asia) Limited, the Faldo Series Asia is underwritten by Faldo and supported by Mission Hills, The R&A and UBS. It is sanctioned by the Asian Tour and the Asia Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC).
