Korn/Ferry International Expands Greater China Team and Appoints New Country Leaders

- New Leadership to Help Drive Unprecedented Growth and Provide Multi-Product Solutions to Organizations Operating in a Globalized China Market - 

Shanghai, February 15, 2006 -- Korn/Ferry International (NYSE:KFY), a premier global provider of talent management solutions, today announced that in the twelve months since moving its Asia/Pacific regional headquarters to Shanghai, it has grown its China team by 30 percent. In addition, the firm has named Messrs. George Fifield and Bill Gu to head up its Beijing and Shanghai offices, respectively.

“Since moving our Asia/Pacific regional headquarters to Shanghai a year ago, we have pursued an aggressive growth and leadership strategy for our Greater China operations to keep up with client demand,” said Charles Tseng, President, Korn/Ferry International, Asia/Pacific. “Under the leadership of Bill and George, we will be able to blend a deep understanding of the local business culture with the global perspective that is needed to guide our clients from around the world through the next period of growth in China.”

New China Management Team Members

  • Mr. Fifield has extensive experience in executive search, organizational consulting, M&A due diligence, and management assessment. Prior to joining Korn/Ferry, he worked for 17 years with another executive search firm in Tokyo, London, and, most recently, Los Angeles, where he was the Office Managing Partner. Previously, he spent seven years with McKinsey & Co. in Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur and Los Angeles. In addition to serving as the Office Managing Director in Beijing, George will also head Korn/Ferry’s Greater China Industrial Markets practice.
  • Dr. Bill Gu has been with Korn/Ferry since 1998 and has risen quickly through the ranks working with clients in the financial services and technology arenas. A native of Shanghai, he holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Jiaotong University, as well as a Ph. D. in Material Science & Engineering from the University of Southern California. Bill assumed the Office Managing Director, Shanghai, role in January.

Industry Experts Drive Business Lines for Asia/Pacific and Greater China Regions
Among the other strategic hires made this year are three senior executives who will oversee core business lines from the Hong Kong and Shanghai offices. They will be introduced to Korn/Ferry clients at a new year’s dinner celebration in Shanghai on the evening of February 15th.

  • Mr. David Everhart will drive Korn/Ferry’s leadership consulting and assessment business in ASEAN, Greater China and India from Shanghai. The founder and executive director of Ionis International, a business training and consulting firm focused on helping international management teams work with customers and suppliers China, Japan and the Pacific Rim, David brings an impressive background in advising top executives in both Asian and U.S.-based firms on how to effectively manage overseas acquisitions, implement business strategies across cultures and lead multi-cultural teams. A graduate of Cornell University, he also has a Master’s degree in East Asian Studies from the University of Michigan and is certified on Korn/Ferry’s proprietary assessment tools.
  • Mr. David Hui joined Korn/Ferry in late 2005 as Senior Client Partner and Regional Market Leader, Financial Services, Asia/Pacific from Whitehead Mann (WHM), where he was Partner and Head of Asia. Based in Hong Kong, David will manage key global and regional accounts for the firm’s Financial Services practice, which is growing 20 percent annually. He was educated in the U.K., graduating with a joint Hons LLB in Chinese Studies from the University of Leeds, followed by an LLM from the University of London. In addition, he holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Business. 
  • Ms. Marie Han-Silloway is a Senior Client Partner and the Consumer Markets Leader for China, based in Shanghai. A veteran international marketing executive with significant experience developing and operationalizing consumer, channel and customer marketing strategies in China and the U.S., she joined from Siemens, where she was SVP and GM of their mobile phone business. Born in Taiwan, she received her BA from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from Emory University.
