In this role, he has direct involvement in managing the recruitment of presidents, chancellors, provosts, deans and C-level administrators for colleges and universities. His strong concentration in North American markets also includes support of many collaborative international engagements within the Firm.

In his more than two decades of executive search experience, Mr. Kring has recruited more than 300 senior-level executives and board directors for leading institutions in the not-for-profit and private sectors, with a specific emphasis on supporting organizations with an education mission.  He writes and frequently is asked to speak on current leadership trends in the field.

Previously, at another global executive search firm, he founded the Philadelphia office in 1997 and grew it into one of the firm’s strongest. He also previously served as regional managing partner and managing partner of the firm’s New York office.

Mr. Kring’s career in executive search includes serving as chief executive officer of a national executive search firm and co-head of the asset management practice at another international firm.
Immediately prior to executive search, Mr. Kring ran a public/private venture and started his career in marketing and finance roles with Chubb & Son and Rolm Corporation.

Mr. Kring’s various interests range from involvement in a number of boards of directors to competing at a national level in masters’ track and field. He serves on the executive committee of the University City Science Center, and recently at International House of Philadelphia. He considers this principal experience in governance as an important influence on his insight at advising boards and committees in handling complex succession issues.

Mr. Kring holds a master’s degree in public and private management (MPPM) from the Yale School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Stanford University.
