With more than two decades of experience in executive recruitment, Mr. Averbach leads and facilitates the work of the teams in the region to bring best-in-class recruiting, human capital and leadership solutions to our clients.
Prior to joining Korn/Ferry in 2002, Mr. Averbach worked with another international executive search firm for almost 15 years. There, he was a director leading the consumer products and life sciences practices in Brazil.
Before becoming an executive search consultant, Mr. Averbach worked with Philip Morris International in New York and Central America. In New York, he was responsible for strategic planning for the Latin America and Iberia region, and in Guatemala for marketing of new products.
Mr. Averbach was the president of the INSEAD International Alumni Association in Brazil for several years, and a member of the Board of Directors of Lar Benjamin, a child recuperation institute. He was appointed chairman of the INSEAD Council for Brazil and Latin America, a forum of CEOs and chairmen that collaborate on bringing regional vision to INSEAD’s executive education priorities in Latin America.
Mr. Averbach earned a master's of business administration from INSEAD in France and received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas in São Paulo, Brazil. He has also enrolled in various executive performance improvement development programs focused on our profession. Mr. Averbach is fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
