Paul Van Katwyk is a Senior Partner at Korn Ferry based in the Toronto office. His professional experience includes more than twenty five years of delivering a range of services, including assessment, coaching, training, and consulting around the development of talent management solutions.

Mr. Van Katwyk’s approach is action-oriented, pragmatic, and focused on success. It is based on developing an understanding of the client’s business and objectives and applying sound talent management principles that effectively meet their needs.

Mr. Van Katwyk joined Korn/Ferry via PDI Ninth House in 1995 in the assessment practice before taking on an 18-month overseas assignment in the Tokyo office. He returned in 1999 to headquarters, where he co-developed and later managed the succession management practice area. In 2002, he returned to Asia to take on the role of Managing Director for the Greater China business until 2010. He then took on the role of Regional Director for Consulting Solutions in the Asia-Pacific region until 2013.  He then rotated back to the United States into his current role as a Senior Partner supporting the integration of PDI Ninth House into Korn Ferry with a focus on the Succession Management and Leadership Development portfolios.

In 2015, he moved back to his home country as he transferred from the Chicago to the Toronto office to focus on the Canada market and oversee some key global accounts.

Passionate about working directly with leaders and their teams, Dr. VanKatwyk regularly works to assess and coach leaders and their teams as well as lead workshops and/or present on a range of topics related to leadership and talent management at client sites and conferences across the globe.  He has conducted research and published articles and book chapters on topics including the role of experience in leadership development, global leadership, the aging workforce, and talent measurement/ assessment. He has also instructed MBA courses on leadership topics.

Mr. VanKatwyk holds a doctorate degree in industrial-organizational psychology from the University of South Florida, a master of arts degree in industrial-organizational psychology from the University of Guelph in Canada, and, while in Asia, gained an MBA degree from the Ivey School of Business campus in Hong Kong.
