Sarah Wallace Deckey is a Principal in the New York office of Korn Ferry, where she specializes in the retail sector.
In delivering integrated talent management solutions, Ms. Deckey partners with a diverse client base as an advisor focused on building and developing effective leadership teams at senior executive levels. Assignment span the C-suite, with an emphasis on Senior Commercial, Marketing, Merchandising, and Strategy/Innovation/Business Development roles.
Ms. Deckey has more than two decades of experience across diverse corporate environments and multiple functions in apparel/footwear/accessories, retail, and luxury goods, including strategy, business development, licensing, international operations/planning, and brand development. She is a highly regarded executive and thought leader with a deep understanding of new competencies in strategy, brand management, digital, innovation, and consumer insights.
Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Ms. Deckey was the Vice President of Strategy and Business Development in VF Corporation’s sportswear coalition, where she was responsible for integrating a broad agenda of consumer insight, strategy, innovation, and brand development to support brand, coalition, financial, and TSR goals, key initiatives, and the overall growth agenda for the coalition, inclusive of the Nautica and Kipling brands.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Deckey held senior executive roles at Kellwood and The Donna Karan Company, and also spent 4 years at Citigroup (then Salomon Smith Barney) in equity research, covering textiles, apparel, and footwear.
Ms. Deckey is a dual national, with US and UK citizenships. Ms. Deckey holds a B.A. in East Asian Studies, cum laude, from Yale University and an M.B.A. from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business.
