Daniel Cheng

Vice Chairman and Senior Client Partner, Asia Pacific Region, Technology Market
Daniel Cheng is the Vice Chairman and a Senior Client Partner of Korn Ferry's Global Technology Market in Asia Pacific, based in the Firm's Singapore office.

Daniel Cheng was the Managing Director of the Asia Pacific Technology Practice and prior to returning to Singapore in 2017, Mr. Cheng was based in the firm's Hong Kong and Beijing offices for 7 years. Mr. Cheng has over two decades of global experience in the search profession with a strong focus on Greater China and Southeast Asia. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with C-suite executives while leading engagements for multinational corporations and Asian conglomerates. His specialty areas cover industry segments ranging from semiconductors, telecommunications and information technology to professional services, hardware and software products.

Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Mr. Cheng spent over 10 years with Heidrick & Struggles in various leadership roles, including the Managing Partner of Singapore and Taiwan, as well as the Practice Managing Partner of Asia Pacific Technology Practice. During his tenure there, he also helped develop the company's emerging markets in Asia Pacific and led the growth of the higher education practice in Asia.

Prior to that, Mr. Cheng was the Managing Director and Head of Asia Pacific Technology Practice at Russell Reynolds based in Singapore. His earlier career was with a number of well-known technology companies, including Mentor Graphics where he was General Manager for Hong Kong and China. He also worked with Computervision Corporation in North Asia, based in Hong Kong, Tokyo and Taiwan, holding country manager and regional sales and marketing leadership positions in the semiconductor equipment and software divisions.

Mr. Cheng is a graduate of McMaster University, Canada and he was also a Non-Executive Director of AEM Holdings, a private equity held semiconductor equipment company listed in the Singapore Stock Exchange.
