He began his career in Subsea Engineering, developing research and development programs for the oil & gas industry at CENPES/Petrobras. He also worked for more than six years at Petroleo Ipiranga, focused on project management, operations and strategic planning.
With more than a decade of executive search experience, Mr. Lavall was the responsible for the startup of an energy practice in a global executive search firm in Brazil. Later on he became responsible for other practices, such as infrastructure, construction, mining, metals and manufacturing.
Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Mr. Lavall worked for six years at Fesa as the Vice President of the Industrial Practice and also as the CEO of Fesa Advisory, the leadership and organizational consulting firm of the group. There he was the Project Leader in several disciplines, such as Business Strategy, Corporate Governance, Organizational Structure, Human Capital Strategy and Talent Management.
Mr. Lavall holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro/UFRJ and MBA from COPPEAD Graduate School of Business. He also attended the Managing Talent for Strategic Advantage Program at Stanford Graduate School of Business, California. He is a native speaker of Portuguese and fluent in English.
