Leveraging her professional experiences as an executive recruiter and higher education administrator, Dr. Hurst brings an established record of success to a broad range of disciplines across healthcare organizations, academic medical institutions and higher education.
Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Dr. Hurst served in director-level roles in executive search, professional development, and research. As Director of Executive Recruiting for the University of Virginia, she led efforts to provide strategic search solutions for the UVA Health System and University. Her portfolio of successful executive placements includes vice presidents, deans, department chairs, and faculty.
Dr. Hurst also directed strategic initiatives for the research and career development for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in all disciplines at UVA.
Dr. Hurst began her academic and research career with a focus in the fields of STEM graduate education, cognitive task analysis and motivation. She served as a postdoctoral researcher on National Science Foundation grants exploring the relationship of research skill development among graduate students and was an adjunct professor, teaching courses in educational psychology, institutional assessment, and child and adolescent development.
Dr. Hurst holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from the University of South Carolina.
