Over his 30-year carreer, Mr. Burggraaf has been involved in several (international) retirement and benefits projects with clients, touching on retirement, asset/risk pooling as well as the maintenance, valuation or setup of global retirement/ benefits programs. As a result, Mr. Burggraaf has vast expertise in helping clients with their complex benefits solutions: next to strong technical and accounting skills (such as actuarial) required for our modelling of benefits programs, Mr Burggraaf is a strong negotiator (for example with Unions or Works Counsels) and has a large global network.
Prior to Korn Ferry, he was Growth and Business Development Leader and Innovation Leader as a Partner at Mercer. Earlier, he was on their Global and Regional Defined Contribution Leadership Team. He started his consulting career as retirement advisor at Aon Consulting.
As a frequent speaker at retirement or benefits focused events, he publishes articles and papers and has written two books on Defined Contribution strategies. More recently, he did some publications on behavioural change of employees. Finally, he is quite active on LinkedIn and Twitter.
Mr. Burggraaf holds two Master Degrees, one in Pensions and Life Assurance (MPLA) and the other in Leading Innovation and Change (MALIC) at York St John's University, specifically focused on activation of employees in the use of reward programs offered. He holds various advisory positions and is fluent in Dutch, English, German and French.
