LOS ANGELES, June 7, 2016 —The Korn Ferry division of Korn Ferry (NYSE:KFY), the preeminent global people and organizational advisory firm, today announced the release of Understanding Executive Compensation & Governance: A Practical Guide, 3rd Edition. The book is edited by Irv Becker, North America Leader for Korn Ferry’s Executive Pay and Governance practice, and Bill Gerek, Korn Ferry Associate Client Partner, Executive Pay & Governance. It is published by WorldatWork, a nonprofit human resources and compensation authority.
The book is designed as a reference guide for compensation committees, CHROs and other decision makers who are charged with navigating complex regulatory issues to create equitable compensation packages. Its purpose is to furnish readers with easy access to a wide range of executive compensation and board governance topics by providing insight on current best practices, design techniques and trends.
“The world of executive compensation and governance is constantly evolving,” said Becker. “A major challenge confronting boards and executive compensation professionals today is establishing a consistent and transparent connection between pay and the value that management is adding. The U.S. Government and institutional shareholders have raised the bar on governance standards. Understanding the complex and evolving executive compensation issues facing global organizations has never been more important.”
“The stakes are high for executive compensation professionals. We know they play a valuable role balancing needs of senior executives, board members and shareholders, said Sue Holloway, WorldatWork senior practice leader for executive compensation. We understand that learning from seasoned professionals is beneficial and the newest edition of Understanding Executive Compensation & Governance: A Practice Guide offers compensation professionals a very comprehensive and useful resource to ensure they have the knowledge and insights they need to tackle today’s executive compensation challenges.”
With new chapters on the CEO and board life cycles, executive pay in bankruptcy proceedings, retention awards, sign-on bonuses and compensating executives at portfolio companies of private equity firms, this book incorporates current knowledge and best practices, then integrates relevant discussion of trends and suggestions.
