Prior to joining Korn Ferry Whitehead Mann, Mr. Treves was a partner at Macfarlanes, a major city law firm, specializing in corporate law and international transactions. During his 40-year tenure at the firm, he spent 12 years as the senior partner.

He was formerly Chairman of The Equitable Life Assurance Society, Intertek Group Plc (a FTSE 100 company), and of The National College for School Leadership. He is now a Non Executive Director of Homerton University Hospital and Trustee of the Prisoners Education Trust. He has in the past been the Chairman of three FTSE companies, a Non-Executive Director of 3 more and Chairman of Channel 4 Television Corporation and of London Business School. He was for many years Chairman of the Development Committee of the National Portrait Gallery, and chaired the Justice for Children and Stop Organised Abuse Appeals of the NSPCC. He is also a trustee of the J. Paul Getty Charitable Trust

Mr. Treves holds a master’s degree in jurisprudence, a master’s degree in international law and is an honorary fellow of London Business School. He writes and lectures regularly on boardroom topics, especially corporate governance.

He is a Commander of the British Empire (CBE).
