Senior Principal

Bernard Cheung is a Senior Principal at Korn Ferry Advisory, based in the firm’s Hong Kong office.

His consulting philosophy is grounded in the belief that people are the defining asset ultimately determining corporate success.

He brings over twenty years of business experience in Hong Kong, Mainland China, and East Asia to the Firm. Prior to joining the Firm, he has served as a general manager in corporate planning and development for Hong Kong Telecom, general manager at Unicom Yellow Pages Limited, and vice president of directory services and international projects at PCCW Limited.

He serves a broad range of clientele, including life sciences and pharmaceutical, financial services, technology, manufacturing, and utility.

He has been with Korn Ferry for more than 10 years. He specializes in the areas of leadership assessment and succession, including competency modeling and leadership development, encompassing workshop facilitation, action learning, and executive coaching.

His broad exposure to diverse business roles, including corporate planning, finance, technical, and general management with profit and loss accountability gives him deep insights into leadership development needs from both individual leader and organizational points of view.

He integrates his expertise and skills in business, psychology and coaching in his consulting work.

He speaks fluent English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.

Mr. Cheung holds a master’s degree in occupational psychology from the University of Sheffield; a post-graduate diploma in coaching psychology from the University of East London; a master’s degree in applied psychology from the City University of Hong Kong; a master of business administration degree from Chinese University of Hong Kong; and a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credentialed by ICF and a registered IO psychologist and a qualified accountant in Hong Kong.
