Mr. Holmen is an Associate Client Partner within the Executive Pay & Governance team, for Korn Ferry Hay Group, based in the firm’s Los Angeles office. He works with compensation committees and management of public and private entities to implement compensation arrangements that align executive pay with an organization’s compensation philosophy and business strategy.

Mr. Holmen’s practice includes benchmarking executive and director compensation, designing short-term and long-term incentive programs, and addressing governance and disclosure issues associated with executive and director compensation programs. He also advises public-company clients regarding proxy advisory firm guidance.

Mr. Holmen has extensive experience in developing and implementing equity and cash incentive plans, deferred compensation arrangements, severance programs, change-in-control programs, and executive contracts. He has also worked with a number of companies to address executive compensation and benefit issues that arise in the context of IPOs, mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions. Mr. Holmen works with clients in numerous industries, including energy, consumer goods, technology, hospitality, real estate, retail, and financial services.

Prior to joining Korn Ferry Hay Group, Mr. Holmen served as an executive compensation partner with the global law firm Jones Day.

Mr. Holmen holds a bachelor’s of arts degree in economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a juris doctorate degree from William & Mary Law School. He also holds a certification through WorldatWork as a certified executive compensation professional (CECP).

Mr. Holmen currently serves on the board of directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Long Beach.
