Deirdre Chong Smith is a Principal for Korn Ferry, based in the firm’s Toronto office.

Ms. Chong builds ongoing relationships and works to provide reward related business solutions, to a broad array of clients from a variety of industries. Working collaboratively with clients, she has designed compensation frameworks considering grading structure, market pricing, as well as cash and noncash elements.

Ms. Chong is also a specialist in assisting companies comply with Ontario’s Pay Equity legislation. 

Previously a specialist in job analysis for market pricing, Ms. Chong led numerous market surveys encompassing all elements of compensation, and has a strong analytical background. In addition, she has led seminars instructing human resources professionals on the use and further application of the Korn Ferry Guide Chart–Profile MethodSM of job evaluation. 

Ms. Chong holds a bachelor of business administration from the University of Toronto, specializing in human resources management. She obtained her Certified Human Resources Leader designation in 2009 and is in progress to obtaining her Certified Compensation Professional designation. An active HRPA member, she is a registered speaker for several total rewards related topics.
