Douglas Romero is a Principal for Korn Ferry Hay Group, based in the firm’s Bogotá office. He is also the compensation leader for the Andean region of the firm.

Mr. Romero has worked to design and implement talent strategy in assurance of its alignment to both, the business strategy and the organizational structure of clients. He has supported executive teams with strategic planning of their workforce. In one case, he sought to help achieve a very challenging goal, increasing the feasibility of triplicate their sales income in 3 years without triplicating the costs.

His support to a services company in Colombia in the areas of compensation and performance management, cultural transformation, top team development, among others, helped them significantly in a business management transition. After that, the company was acquired by a multinational.

Mr. Romero has more than 20 years of experience as a Korn Ferry Hay Group consultant, having participated in projects and helped clients in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Trinidad & Tobago and Central America. Mr. Romero has worked with clients in sectors including oil & gas, mining, industrial, fast moving consumer goods, retail, pharmaceuticals, telecom, agribusiness, services, banking, and non-governmental organizations, supporting the CEOs with the implementation of the strategy through the people.

His expertise includes: strategy implementation, operating models and orgs structures, work measurement, strategic workforce planning, culture management, employee engagement, remuneration, leadership and talent, succession, variable compensation for sales forces and for executives.

Mr. Romero is a systems engineer from the Polytechnic Institute of the National Armed Forces in Caracas, Venezuela, as wells as business administrator from Universidad Simón Bolivar in Caracas.

With the Spanish as his native tongue, Mr. Romero is fluent in English.
