John Lockett is a Managing Principal for Korn Ferry Hay Group based in the firm’s London office. He has worked in the leadership development and coaching profession for many years and has deep coaching and assessment expertise. He has been successful in developing leaders across a wide array of industries and cultures, latterly at board and executive committee level. He is particularly focused on helping leaders operate successfully through organizational and personal change.

Mr. Lockett's coaching specialties are strategic alignment, career transition, high potential coaching, executive onboarding, leadership team alignment, global and cross-cultural issues, mergers and acquisitions, succession management and board evaluation.

Mr. Lockett has worked either as a senior executive or a consultant in the following industries - retailing, financial services food manufacturing, energy, life sciences/healthcare, government and non-profit, transport/infrastructure, mining, chemicals.

Mr. Lockett has operated as a senior executive in large complex global businesses and as an external leadership adviser to a wide range of organizations. Mr Lockett has recently rejoined Korn Ferry after a period working with another consultancy supporting senior executives through career transition. He became a Managing Principal with Korn Ferry on the acquisition of Whitehead Mann, where he had been a senior consultant, leading their board evaluation practice.

Prior to his consulting career, Mr. Lockett has worked in a succession of senior human resources roles with organizations such as ICI, Dalgety Spillers, Associated British Foods, Lloyds TSB, Safeway, where he was management development director and Barclays, where he was director of leadership development for the group for five years.

Mr. Lockett is qualified at Level A and B for BPS psychometrics & MBTI as well as a range of other psychometric instruments such as the Hogan suite and Firo-B. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development and a Fellow of the Royal Society for Arts.

Mr. Lockett holds an advanced diploma in executive coaching with the Academy of Executive Coaching. He also has a bachelor of arts degree in politics from Exeter University.
