Senior Client Partner

Mel Stark is a Senior Client Partner for Korn Ferry, based in the firm's Princeton office.

Mr. Stark has been involved in engagements geared to helping organizations affect change and improve operations through people. In a global job classification and reward program involving over 7,000 employees and payroll in excess of $400MM, the deliverables yielded $9MM that could be better appropriated for a higher ROI.

Working with family members - both in and outside the business in a private organization, Mr. Stark helped clarify roles and accountabilities, coaching the client through behavioral and personal matters. The new president wrote to say that “…you and your colleagues were the reason the transition was bloodless”.

Mr. Stark is focused on adding clarity to clients’ operations through cultural diagnostics, job analysis, work measurement, accountability mapping, and job and organization design.

Building commitment in clients’ employees is stressed through the effective implementation of holistic reward programs. Besides their extrinsic value, these programs will often include tailored and competitive base pay structures, variable pay programs (short- and long-term), and performance management processes, for executives and the workforce at large, and which are aligned with and made a part of integrated human resources systems.

Mr. Stark holds a master’s of business administration from Bernard M. Baruch College, and an advanced professional certificate in organizational behavior and development from New York University’s Graduate School of Business Administration.

Mr. Stark is a co-author of “The Manager’s Guide to Rewards”, has had a number of articles published in professional journals and is often invited to speak on a wide range of human resource and organization effectiveness topics.
