Miriam Nelson is a Senior Client Partner in Korn Ferry’s New York office where she supports the CXO Optimization Practice, an assessment & development solution that leverages the firm’s 40 years of executive search experience and best-in-class leadership competency IP to help organizations transform their core functions into competitive advantages.

In this role, she guides Boards, CEOs, and senior management in aligning their interests and optimizing their talent through assessment, development, org design, succession, and retention programs. Her clients include a variety of organizations across multiple industries, including the Fortune 100.

Ms. Nelson works with leading organizations to improve the effectiveness of their talent. Specifically, she partners with organizations and professional services firms in the areas of leadership assessment and development, top team effectiveness, employee selection and retention, succession, and talent management. 

Ms. Nelson has particular expertise in the financial services and law industries, and in the area of customer service effectiveness, helping service organizations improve customer experience through its people.

Ms. Nelson joined Korn Ferry in 2017, having served as a partner and practice leader for Aon Hewitt’s Leadership Assessment and Development practice in North America. In that role, she was responsible for the strategy, growth and thought leadership in leadership assessment and development, including executive succession, team effectiveness, and human capital strategy. She also provided leadership support for Aon Hewitt’s Global Leadership Council, Top Companies for Leaders, and Talent Council.

Ms. Nelson is a frequent speaker at conferences in the field of Industrial/Organizational Psychology, in the services industry, and also for financial services talent leaders. She has authored several articles and book chapters on succession, customer centricity, the conduct of call monitoring, and quality assurance practices. 

Ms. Nelson holds a PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Stevens Institute of Technology, a Master of Arts degree in Applied Psychology from Hofstra University, and Bachelors degrees in Business and also Psychology from American University. She is certified in the ProSci method of change management, ADEPT-15 assessment, Hogan’s suite of assessments and Leader.
