Since joining the firm in 2009, Mr. Sumner has successfully partnered with global, pan-European and UK clients in the Sports and Consumer sectors in the recruitment of executives at the General Management, C-Suite and Board level. His experience has covered all areas of the eco-system of Sports including Clubs, Associations, Leagues and Events.

In addition, Mr. Sumner is the UK lead and a key member of the firm's Global CMO Centre of Expertise. In this capacity, Richard has recruited CMOs across a broad range of industries including Consumer, Digital, B2B and Financial Services. His focus also covers functional areas of Marketing including Branding, Innovation, CRM and Insight.

He is renowned in the industry for his knowledge of the sector as recognised by his appointment to the judging panel of the Marketing Academy's prestigious "CMO Fellowship". Developed in association with McKinsey, this is a high-profile programme designed to enable CMOs to become CEOs.

Previously, Mr. Sumner worked for Korn/Ferry's strategic talent acquisition subsidiary, Futurestep, where he was a Consultant focusing on search and selection assignments in the UK Consumer sector. Prior to this, Richard spent four years with Mellor Watts International, a boutique Executive Search firm in the Media industry, where he became Head of Research.

Mr. Sumner has a degree in European History and French from the University of East Anglia.

He speaks French and German.
