Mr. Johnston has led numerous CEO and senior executive succession projects for ASX listed and large, private organisations. Such assignments involve the provision of advice to Board members, and deep development work with participant executives.

Mr. Johnston has conducted hundreds of high touch executive evaluations at senior levels and collaborated with clients and participant executives to create impactful development plans.

Mr. Johnston has worked with many senior teams to improve their trust, communication and effectiveness and has facilitated large-scale and long-term leadership development programs.

Mr. Johnston is a skilled executive coach and mentor. He is a trusted advisor to many executives in leading organisations across Australia. Client feedback describes Mr. Johnston as relationship oriented, strategic in his perspective, provocative and reliable.

Mr. Johnston has been a Korn Ferry Partner since 2006. His expertise is in CEO succession, team effectiveness, leadership and high potential talent development and executive coaching.

Mr. Johnston is also experienced in developing leadership and talent strategy and competency modelling. He is a skilled public speaker. He is also a published author in the field of leadership and culture.

Prior to joining Korn Ferry he held a number of senior management positions over a period of 20 years in the media/entertainment and FMCG sectors, including CEO Video Ezy and MD Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

Mr. Johnston holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) degree from Monash University, an MBA from Macquarie University, with a Graduate Diploma in Coaching Psychology from Sydney University, and is a graduate of the AICD. In May 2007, Mr. Johnston published his first book, What do you do for a living? through Hardie Grant Publishers.
