Ms. Sun is Office Managing Director in Korn Ferry’s Beijing Office covering our business in North China.

In her capacity as Senior Client Partner, Ms. Sun leads the Private Equity and Venture Capital practice in China and is active in Technology, Internet / Mobile, and Consumer/Content industries. She did extensive work for sovereign wealth and private funds, with a strong focus in building and developing high calibre leadership teams at both fund- and portfolio- level. As a trusted advisor to Family Boards, C-Suites, and leading Chinese companies, she provided advice to enable them to successfully manage growth, international expansion, and competitive turnaround. Ms. Sun has developed competency and leadership potential models for POEs and SOEs, incorporating strategic leadership assessment and competency modelling.

Ms. Sun brings more than 20 years of experience in leadership and strategy consulting in the fast-growing PE/VC and technology space, in addition to her senior executive roles with major blue-chip corporations.

Prior to Korn Ferry, Ms. Sun was with a global leadership advisory firm for 12 years where she was their most senior Chinese Partner.

Her earlier career was in strategy consulting as a Principal with BCG, focusing on the Technology sector. Before that, she was with Bain during which time she worked out of their Los Angeles office in addition to servicing in China. Earlier in her career, she worked at Danaher Corporation as their Business Development and Corporate M&A Director, Mitsubishi Corporation as their Project Manager in Petrochemical business.

Ms. Sun is a regular speaker at corporate forums and EMBA programs. She lectures at Peking University’s Entrepreneur Club, where she helps Chinese entrepreneurs make more informed talent decisions. Ms. Sun is an Aspen Fellow and member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network, committed to making an impact through fostering enlightened leadership and better society building.

Ms. Sun earned a BA in Economics (Honors) from Peking University and an MBA from INSEAD, where she received a Leadership Potential Award.
