The rising importance of the middle manager role means that organizations now have the ability to effectively execute their strategy through this large cadre of the workforce. But in order to ensure success, it’s crucial to make sure you have the right people in these roles and that they can hit the ground running.
However, new managers can find themselves having gone from an individual contributor on a Friday, to a manager on the Monday, and often without the training, support and guidance they need to make a smooth transition. Once the excitement has faded, many find themselves not fully appreciating what they need to start doing as a leader, and what they need to leave behind.
