A robust leadership pipeline is critical for organizations to drive strategy and growth. But while many organizations have devoted considerable resources to leadership development, 55% of Korn Ferry’s recent global survey respondents (7,500 business and HR leaders from 107 countries) indicate the return on their development investment is “fair” to “very poor,” leaving few with enough leaders ready to take on greater responsibilities.
Simply put, there is a talent shortage in the business world. The complexity and fast-changing nature of the global economy has created demand for new skill sets, new mindsets, and different types of leaders, across a growing number of regions and markets.
