Sally Blount, dean of the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, says technology will never be a replacement for real leadership. “You don’t lead through email. You don’t lead through tweets. The way you lead is face-to-face.”
Leadership in business is a topic Blount knows all about. In addition to her academic duties, she is on the board of directors at Abbott Laboratories and worked previously as a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group.
In this video series, Blount talks to Tierney Remick, Korn Ferry’s vice chairman of the Global Board and CEO Practice, and Jonathan Dahl, Korn Ferry’s vice president and chief content officer.
Part 1: Blount explains how leaders need to be in the same room with the people they direct.
Part 2: Blount highlights the differences between academia and the business world.
Part 3: Blount explains what business school education will look like in the near future.
