Howard University School of Law Partners with Korn Ferry to Identify New Dean
Los Angeles. March 18, 2014
LOS ANGELES, March 18, 2014 — Korn Ferry (NYSE:KFY), a single source of leadership and talent consulting services, recently announced that they are partnering with the Howard University School of Law, on the search for its new Dean.
The School of Law was created to provide legal education for Americans traditionally excluded from the profession; especially African Americans. The objective of the School of Law is to produce superior professionals, capable of achieving positions of leadership in law, business, government, education, and public service.
Located in the nation’s capital, Howard University is classified by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching as a doctoral/research university-extensive, and is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Chartered by an act of Congress in 1867, Howard University is the world’s largest comprehensive university with a predominantly African-American enrollment.
As the chief executive and academic officer for the Howard University School of Law, the Dean sets the standard for intellectual engagement and accomplishment by providing strategic vision for and operational leadership of the academic programs.
“The Howard University School of Law has been instrumental in leading the charge for social justice, equality and civil rights," Interim President, Dr. Frederick said. "The next Dean of the Law School will fortify those areas of our legacy and will also contemporize the instructional experience and grow areas that will allow our graduates strong footholds in the future job market. We want our entire Howard University community to be fully engaged.”
“We are honored to partner with the Howard University Law School on this important search. It is an exciting and transformative time for the Howard University community. The law school is well positioned to attract a leader who aligns with their values and strong legacy, while also innovating and preparing a new generation of lawyers who will make an impact across the globe,” said Divina Gamble, Principal, Korn Ferry and a member of the firm’s Global Education and Nonprofit practices.
Howard University School of Law is one of America’s leading centers for legal education and research.
