Virtual | EX Group Classification Training

The program is designed to enable human resource practitioners and others who are involved with the Plan to evaluate positions in a manner that is consistent with the Executive Group Position Evaluation Plan.

For human resource practitionersthe course provides the knowledge and skills to enable them to provide assistance to management in the evaluation of positions at the executive level in the federal public service. This course is intended to provide them with a sufficient level of knowledge to enable them to:

• Apply the Planunder the guidance of a senior specialist
• Advise management on the principles and concepts of the Plan
• Act as technical specialist/secretary to a departmental evaluation committee

In addition to this primary target audiencethe course is suitable for senior HR managers who are responsible for managing the EX Group in their department or agency. Finallythe course is also suitable for senior line managers who are called upon to manage the EX Group or serve as members of evaluation committees.

Virtual – EX Group Classification Training - September 13-17, 2021

A  virtual workshop for employees involved in Executive Group (EX) job evaluation. The course is targeted to a primary audience of experienced classification specialists who should have successfully completed the Canada School of Public Service courses in organization and classification (P911P912 and P916). This course will consist of five – 3 hour sessions from September 13-17  – 1:00pm  4:00pm EST and June 7 – 11 – 1:00pm – 4:00 pm EST.

Video participation is required for the webinar and classroom session.

Who should attend

The course provides participants with:

• An understanding of the conceptual framework for the Plan
• An appreciation of the role of the Public Service Human Resources Management Agency of Canada as the manager of the Plan
• Practice in applying the Plan Practice in developing oral and written rationales

An opportunity to discuss issues around EX classification and organization design.
