Andrew Abbott is a senior member of Korn Ferry’s Government, Education and Not for Profit team, advising boards, secretaries and chief executives on the appointment of senior leaders across the public purpose sectors.

Andrew brings more than twenty years of senior executive experience in the Victorian Government, where he held leadership roles across the Premier’s, industry, education and economic portfolios. His previous positions include serving as Deputy Secretary for Creative, Sport and Visitor Economies and earlier roles focused on system stewardship, policy development, economic strategy and organisational leadership.

Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Andrew worked for a boutique executive search firm leading its public sector and for purpose practice.

Andrew has a strong record in identifying and assessing leaders who can navigate complexity, deliver strategic outcomes and work with clarity and purpose. His approach is grounded in a deep understanding of governance, public value, organisational performance and the dynamics of senior stakeholder engagement.

He holds an MBA (First Class Honours) from Melbourne Business School, postgraduate qualifications from the University of Melbourne and is an Executive Fellow of the Australia and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG). In 2016 he received the Institute of Public Administration Australia Victoria Fellowship in recognition of his contribution to public administration.
