James Sweetman is a Principal and member of the Global Industrial Markets practice and ESG & Sustainability COE.

With over a decade of experience in talent acquisition, leadership consulting and organizational strategy, James works with clients with a broad cross-section of talent needs. He recruits executives at the C-suite, Board of Directors, and other senior levels, as well as leaders in the ESG and Sustainability function. He also supports clients with leadership assessment programs and executive succession planning. Lastly, he helps organizations with culture transformation and organizational design.

Mr. Sweetman partners with companies across the North American industrial sector with a particular focus on the agribusiness, energy and natural resources value chains. He also works with industrial companies that support these sectors, such as the manufacturing, chemicals/materials, technology, construction, and transportation industries.

He is also passionate about the growing cleantech sector and works extensively in developing industries such as agtech and foodtech, renewables, RNG and biofuels, biochemicals and biomaterials, CCUS and carbon markets. Lastly, he also works with the private equity and venture capital firms that invest in these companies.

Mr. Sweetman started his professional career in the British Army before immigrating to Canada in 2012. He joined a specialist recruitment agency and then a global contingent workforce and project management consultancy before starting his executive search and leadership advisory career at a boutique firm. Prior to Korn Ferry, James worked at another global executive search and leadership advisory firm.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of York and holds a Certificate in Sustainable Business Strategy from the University of Toronto.
