Senior Principal, Assessment & Succession

Carolyn Chan has more than 25 years of corporate and consulting experience in the areas of  leadership assessment and development, executive coaching, executive search as well as human resources. 

She was a member of the pioneer team to open executive search offices for a global consulting firm and Asia expansion for the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL). Her experience includes business development, client management in addition to executive search and leadership coaching. Ms. Chan specializes in assessment for leadership development and working across cultures.

Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Ms. Chan ran a consultancy practice working with leadership talent from multinational companies in the assessment for leadership development area. She was affiliated with several groups including: CCL, LEAP (Leadership Education for Asian Pacifics), BetterUp and Storbeck Search. 

Previously, Ms. Chan served as Managing Partner at Heidrick & Struggles Singapore leading the Human Resources Practice for Asia Pacific, and member of the Consumer Practice. She also served as Co-Chair for the Women Corporate Directors chapter.

Other work experience includes roles with Walmart Global Sourcing and Target Stores.

Ms. Chan is passionate about advancing the leadership lens with diversity, equity and inclusion.

Ms. Chan holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Massachusetts, Amherst.  She is certified in Korn Ferry Suite of Assessment Tools, Hogan LEAD Assessment series, CCL’s Benchmarks360, MBTI, Firo-B, Workplace Big5, Gallup Strengthsfinder and holds an ACC Coaching Certification from the International Coach Federation.
