Lead Consulting Partner, Indonesia

Angel Blanco is the lead consulting partner for Indonesia, based in Jakarta. His first engagement in Indonesia dates to 1997, and has led the firm since 2022.

His key areas of specialisation include Organisation Strategy and Transformation (where he works closely with C-suite members to enable them to lead change), Leadership Development Programs and Strategic Workforce Planning. In this capacity, Angel has built longstanding trusted relationships with a large number of CEOs, acting as a de facto coach and advisor.

As a  long-term resident of Indonesia, a key priority and passion for Angel is leveraging the local passion and competence of Indonesian leaders with best practices, skills required to succeed in a global environment, and a sense of pride to drive Indonesian economic growth.

Angel has partnered closely with C-suite members (and often boards) of over 20 major Indonesian organisations, and has kept himself renewed through global assignments in Singapore, Thailand, Korea, Sweden among other countries. In this regard, Angel is a great example of the “think global, act local” philosophy. While most of his c-suite clients are Indonesian, Angel has also advised Japanese, Korean, Indian and western CEOs based in Jakarta.

Having lived in Indonesia in different periods for over 25 years has allowed Angel to build relationships at a very early stage with colleagues that later rose to C-suite positions. Angel’s ability to understand Indonesian business, culture, ways of working and his proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia have allowed him to establish himself as a trusted advisor to Indonesian CEOs.

Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Angel had the opportunity to lead engagements in consulting firms including McKinsey, Accenture and KPMG. This broad consulting experience has allowed him to develop solid competencies in strategy, IT and Operations. Combining such expertise with the organisation and people focus at Korn Ferry makes Angel a well-rounded advisor.

Angel is a graduate of Madrid’s Universidad Politecnica, has a masters degree in Information Security from Ecole Nationale Superieure Telecom Paris, and a Dual MBA degree from Rotterdam School of Management/Columbia University. Angel is fluent in Spanish, English, French and Bahasa Indonesia.
