Principal

Brandon Young is a Principal within Korn Ferry’s Advisory Assessment and Succession Practice.

Dr. Young partners with clients to identify and close gaps between the talent they have and the talent they need. He optimizes organizational effectiveness through tailored talent management solutions designed to enhance leader and team potential and performance.

Brandon’s experiences as an entrepreneur, university faculty member, and consultant have shaped his approach to problem solving. He collaborates with key stakeholders to understand business objectives and uncover needs, and leans on his a scientist-practitioner background to test assumptions, leverage data, and help his clients succeed.

Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Brandon worked across a wide variety of industries for boutique talent consulting firms. He designed and implemented assessment processes and a broad array of tools to assess individual differences (e.g., cognitive, behavior, skills, abilities), and translated the insights to enhance organizational selection and development initiatives. 

Brandon also has extensive experience crafting and managing organizational listening strategies and employee surveys, and interpreting data to inform decisions and guide organizational change. He has evaluated processes and tools through linkage, ROI, validity, and adverse impact studies.

Dr. Young began his career and held several positions at the largest employers association in the United States. He advised hundreds of employers on human capital issues, trained managers and human resources professionals, optimized and managed employee survey processes and delivered survey insights, and founded and grew an assessment services line.

Brandon earned his doctoral degree in industrial and organizational psychology from the University of Central Florida. He is certified as a human resources professional by the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI), and serves as a board member for the Productivity Measurement and Enhancement System International Competency Centre (ProMES-ICC).
