Joe Cardella is a Managing Consultant in Korn Ferry’s Healthcare Services Practice within Professional Search, based in Connecticut.
Joe partners with hospitals, health systems, academic medical centers, and healthcare services organizations nationwide to support the identification and placement of emerging leaders across clinical and non-clinical functions, with a focus on roles requiring sound operational judgment and the ability to lead through change.
Joe brings more than 25 years of experience working closely with healthcare leaders at all levels, from frontline managers and directors to vice presidents and C-suite executives. Prior to joining Korn Ferry, he held senior leadership roles across healthcare services and digital health organizations, building long-term partnerships with national and regional health systems, academic medical centers, and healthcare services organizations.
In these roles, Joe worked directly with hospital and health system leadership teams through periods of growth, workforce disruption, and operational change. He supported leaders as they addressed access constraints, workforce shortages, service line performance, and execution priorities. This experience gives him a clear understanding of what effective leadership looks like in complex, regulated environments and informs how leadership capability, readiness, and fit are evaluated in search.
Joe is known for a pragmatic, relationship-driven approach and for bringing structure, transparency, and consistency to the search process. He focuses on aligning leadership capability with organizational culture, operating priorities, mission and client long-term growth objectives.
Joe holds a BA in Communication Sciences with a focus in Marketing from the University of Connecticut.
