Liz Schaefer is a Senior Client Partner in Korn Ferry’s Human Resources Practice, bringing nearly 20 years of executive search expertise to her clients. She specializes in placing senior HR leaders across a wide spectrum of roles, including Chief People/Human Resources Officer, Head of Talent Management, Head of Total Rewards, and other strategic HR positions.
Liz’s work spans multiple industries, with deep experience in Financial & Professional Services, Healthcare Services, Nonprofit, Consumer and Technology. Her client portfolio includes multinational public companies, family-led enterprises, privately-held and nonprofit organizations.
Before stepping into her current role, Liz spent a decade in Korn Ferry’s Professional Search division, where she was a key member of the leadership team. She began her career in the firm’s Industrial Practice and later led the Human Resources Center of Expertise and Healthcare Market.
Known for her consultative approach, Liz partners closely with clients to align search strategies with organizational goals. She also advises on leadership transitions, succession planning, and building robust talent pipelines.
Liz launched her search career another executive search firm in New York City, supporting the Chief Human Resources Officer Practice. Earlier in her career, she held sales and marketing roles with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company.
She earned her B.A. from American University in Washington, D.C., where she competed on the Division I Swim Team. A former New Yorker, Liz now lives in Jacksonville, Florida, with her husband, a Navy Petty Officer, and their two daughters.
