Mike specializes in executive search and talent advisory for Private Markets Investment Managers. Typical clients include General Partners, Asset Owners, Family Offices, and other alternative asset management firms. His functional areas of expertise include the placement of below-Partner level investment professionals, business development and deal origination, capital raising and investor relations, fund CFOs and strategic finance officers.

In addition to completing search mandates for clients across sector in private equity and other long-dated, illiquid strategies such as Real Estate, Infrastructure, and Long-Dated Credit, Mr. Brothers brings a wealth of experience advising clients on their talent acquisition and management strategies. He works closely with the portfolio companies of his private equity clients to access C-level executive recruitment as well as the full spectrum of Korn Ferry’s talent advisory capabilities including compensation advisory, D&I, executive assessment, succession planning, etc. 

Mike has completed numerous search assignments placing Strategic Corporate Finance professionals into PE-backed companies at all stages of the investment cycle, as well as has successfully completed search mandates for multi-national bulge bracket, middle market & premier boutique investment banking clients as his expertise spans across product & coverage investment banking; primarily M&A, Leveraged Finance, Capital Markets & Structured Finance.

Mike joined Korn Ferry from UK-based search firm Michael Page International, where he was responsible for leading the Front Office financial services recruitment search practice. In that role, he originated and executed search mandates for below-Partner-level, revenue generation positions across Investment Management and Investment Banking. He began his professional recruitment career with boutique NY based search firm GreenKey Resources.

Mike holds two Bachelor degrees in Political Science & English Literature from the University of Rhode Island.
