Leaders in Ladakh, the “Land of High Passes” situated north of the Himalayas, are pushing to establish the region as a high-altitude tourism destination by improving connectivity and upgrading infrastructure. In the meantime, it’s an adventurous destination for the digital nomad searching for spots the rest of the world has yet to discover. During the week, clock in from one of the new coworking spaces in Leh, and on the weekends go explore the surrounding mountain peaks, saltwater lakes, or Buddhist monasteries. While the city’s elevation sits high at 11,500 feet, the cost of living remains quite low compared to other areas in India.

Ladakh is strategically located on the border between China and Pakistan.
