Senior Client Partner, Financial Services, EMEA

Andy Smith is a Senior Client Partner in the European Financial Services Practice based in Korn Ferry's London office and conducts senior level search and assessment projects for board directors, CEOs and regional, divisional and functional business leaders within the Investment Management sector on a global basis.

Andy works particularly closely with companies embarking on a period of accelerated growth and change within their business, including major investment management companies, large insurers, international pension funds, sovereign wealth funds and wealth management firms. 

Andy advises business leaders regularly on their own career transitions and challenges, as well as working closely with advisory colleagues to counsel clients and deliver a wide range of leadership and human capital solutions.

Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Andy worked for over a decade at another major global search firm, and latterly led their Global Investment Management practice, working with teams across all asset classes, regions and functions, including private capital, infrastructure, real estate and liquid alternatives.

Previously Andy was a managing director at a global executive search boutique and was responsible for building the firm’s European business from inception, having previously been a partner at a financial services boutique firm where he established and developed the firm’s asset management practice in the EMEA region. He began his career in executive search in the asset management practice of another global executive search firm.

Andy’s earlier career after graduation was as a shipbroker, brokering global sale and purchase transactions of deep sea oil tankers, bulk carriers and container ships between international shipowners. Andy graduated with a BA in Modern History from New College, University of Oxford. 

Outside of work, Andy is a keen coach in youth football and cricket and is currently Vice-Chairman of Oxford Cricket Club.
