Ashley Chi is a Senior Partner in the Legal Division of Korn Ferry’s Professional Search Practice and regularly collaborates with the Executive Search Practice. She is a key member of the Firm’s Legal Centre of Expertise. While she has experience working with a wide-range of clients across industries, she has extensive experience in the Life Sciences industry.

Ms. Chi specializes in the recruitment of attorneys and legal executives at both law firms and private and public companies. She has led numerous searches for associates, counsels and partners at boutique, national and global law firms. She has also led searches for general counsels, deputy general counsels, associate general counsels, senior counsels and corporate counsels at corporations. Ms. Chi is a relationship-driven search partner. Whether she is supporting candidates and coaching them on growing their careers, or supporting clients in bringing in the right talent that will thrive in their culture, she is always thinking about the right fit for both parties.

Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Ms. Chi practiced law as an intellectual property (IP) litigator for nearly 10 years at several top global law firms in both New York and Chicago. Given her technical background, her practice focused on pharmaceutical and medical device patent litigations. She also spent time as an in-house attorney tasked with building and monetizing the company’s IP portfolio with an emphasis on AI and machine learning.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Chi was a management consultant for a New York City-based firm founded by ex-McKinsey partners with expertise in process and efficiency improvement and outsourcing projects.

Ms. Chi is a diversity, equity and inclusion advocate. She brings with her experiences from growing up in Taipei, Taiwan and Toronto, Canada. Ms. Chi is an active member of the National Associate for Women Lawyers (NAWL), Chiefs of IP (ChIPs) and National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA). She is a native Mandarin speaker.

Ms. Chi holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Engineering with a Minor in Engineering Management from Cornell University and a Juris Doctor for Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law. She was admitted to the New York and Illinois bars in 2012.
