Having placed hundreds of people in numerous industries across the United States, Jim Barnhill started his career with Lucas Group, (1998-2021), until Lucas Group was acquired by Korn Ferry Q4 of 2021 and is a seasoned industry veteran. 

He enjoys being a catalyst in placing exceptional talent into high performing companies, and his clients appreciate his direct, collaborative, and thoughtful approach to the hiring process. Jim knows that when he can make a match that is right for both the company and the individual all signs point to success.

Now a Managing Consultant in the Accounting and Finance practice along with almost a decade’s worth of Human Resources experience, Jim started his career after graduating from the University of Tennessee with a master’s degree in American History. During his tenure, he’s been promoted six times and garnered a proven success rate among a range of businesses from privately held companies to Fortune 500 clients including SunTrust, Delta Air Lines, Wells Fargo, Target, Frito-Lay, Regions Bank, Sara Lee, and Electronic Arts. Jim approaches every client and candidate with the same level of importance and respect, which is just one of the factors that have contributed to his professional success.

Jim finds satisfaction witnessing great candidates seize new career opportunities and companies hire professionals that will grow and help differentiate that company from its competitors. To achieve those results, he focuses on the needs of each to determine their respective motivations and compatibility. His customer-service oriented method is accurate, efficient, and has helped him establish a significant amount of repeat business and a deep professional network.

In addition to spending time with his family and vacationing across the deep South, Jim is an avid sports fan and enjoys playing golf and supporting his alma mater football team – the Tennessee Vols. Upon graduation with his undergraduate degree at the University of Delaware, he taught and coached football and track & field for three years at the University School of Jackson, in Jackson, TN.
