Operating globally, he leads complex cross-border mandates across Europe, North America, and Asia. His work spans CEO and C-suite appointments, Board search and succession planning, and governance-focused leadership advisory. He is particularly experienced in CEO and CFO transitions within transformation, high-growth, and transaction environments.
In Private Equity, Markus partners with investors on portfolio leadership strategy, CEO and CFO selection, management team build-outs, and succession planning. He supports investment professionals through leadership due diligence, executive assessment, and post-acquisition leadership upgrades to drive value creation.
His advisory scope covers Board composition and renewal, succession planning, executive assessment and benchmarking, and leadership due diligence. He works closely with Chairs, Nomination Committees, and investment professionals.
Markus brings more than 20 years of experience in executive search and leadership advisory. Prior to Korn Ferry, he held senior leadership roles at another global search firm, including Global Sector Head and Country Managing Director. Earlier, he was Senior Partner and Managing Director at a leading management consulting firm, advising multinational companies on strategy and organization.
Markus holds a Master’s degree from the Vienna University of Economics and Business and is fluent in German and English.
