Senior Client Partner, Board Services & Director Readiness
Expertise
Matt McGreal, a member of the Global Board Services Practice and the Director Readiness Institute, focuses exclusively on boardroom engagements.
Matt is the leading adviser to Chief Executive Officers, CEO Succession Candidates, and Senior Executives in identifying the right corporate board opportunity. He has personally counseled hundreds of major companies, across industries, in preparing their most valuable executives for board service and he guides them to find the right board, through a process of aligning their value proposition, development plan, personal interests, and corporate strategy to the corporate board director market.
More broadly, throughout his 25-year career in board and director advisory services, Matt has successfully completed well over 500 non-executive director searches (healthy board succession, activist defense, spin out, split, and IPOs). Additionally, he has advised on board & committee composition analysis, evaluation, and benchmarking, as well as director assessment and board succession planning.
Prior to Korn Ferry, Matt was Managing Director of a boutique governance consulting firm and earlier was Corporate Governance Practice Leader for a leading retained search firm. He started his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Matt serves on the Board of Trustees for Trinity High School, a Catholic all-girls school, where he has chaired the Marketing Committee, the Athletic Impact Committee, and the Presidential Search Committee. Within the Corporate Board and Director space, Matt has shared his expertise on panels and authored articles, white papers, and other intellectual capital, focused on governance best practices, board composition, preparing for board service, and identifying the right board opportunities.
He earned his undergraduate degree in History from Elmhurst College, where he also competed in Track & Field. He went on to receive a Masters degree from the University of Illinois in Information Science.
Matt and his wife, Colleen, a physical therapist specializing in military veteran amputees, reside outside of Chicago with their three children.
