Stig Berntzen

Head of Energy Nordics & Senior Client Partner, CEO & Board Practice

Stig Dahlgaard Berntzen is a Senior Client Partner based in the firm’s Oslo office where he conducts top-level executive search and assessment assignments for Norwegian and international clients across industries, with an emphasis on energy, shipping, industry & natural resources, retail and financial services/ private equity.

Prior to Korn Ferry, Stig was Partner for another global executive search firm where he was responsible for the Norwegian market. He has led and executed Board and C-level searches and assessments for some of the largest and most prominent companies in Norway and the Nordics. He also served as a trusted advisor to listed companies, private owners, Chairs and CEOs on leadership development and critical top executive recruitments.

Earlier in his career he was with the Norwegian Trade Council, Ministry of Foreign Affairs as commercial counselor and head of the Copenhagen office, he was commercial attaché for Norway in Germany and Belgium. He spent two years with IBM Nordic.

In 2007, Stig was appointed Knight of the Order of the Dannebrog by Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II, in recognition of his significant contributions to strengthening collaboration between Danish and Norwegian industry.

Stig holds his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Economics from Copenhagen Business School and his Master of Science in European Business Administration and Business Law from Lund University. He is fluent in Norwegian, Danish, English and German.
